Goose skills vs recipes
Goose recipes package a whole task setup, with instructions, extensions and parameters, so you can share and rerun it. Skills are smaller: a SKILL.md folder that teaches one job and loads only when your request matches. Goose reads Skills from ~/.agents/skills/ and .agents/skills/, and still reads older .goose/skills/ folders.

Does Goose support Agent Skills?
Yes. Goose reads SKILL.md folders from ~/.agents/skills/ and .agents/skills/, still reads .goose/skills/ and .claude/skills/, and loads a skill when your request matches.
Goose skills vs recipes: which should I use?
Use a recipe to share a whole task setup, with prompt, extensions and parameters. Use a skill for know-how any session should be able to pull in.
Where does Goose read project context?
Goose reads AGENTS.md first, then .goosehints, in the project. A global .goosehints lives in ~/.config/goose/.
Can I use my Claude Code Skills in Goose?
Yes. A Claude Code Skill is a SKILL.md folder, the same format Goose reads. Copy the folder into ~/.agents/skills/ and Goose picks it up.
Are the Skills on Skillry free?
Every category has free Skills; the rest are $4.99 each or included with a Skillry plan. Free and paid Skills install and run the same way.
