How to install skills in Windsurf

Windsurf reads ~/.agents/skills/, so the install prompt puts each Skill there with no extra setup.

Does Windsurf support Agent Skills?

Yes. Windsurf, now Devin Desktop, reads SKILL.md folders from .devin/skills/ or .agents/skills/ in a workspace and ~/.config/devin/skills/ or ~/.agents/skills/ globally. Older .windsurf/skills/ folders still work.

Is Windsurf now Devin Desktop?

Yes. Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop in June 2026. Skills, rules and workflows carried over; the new folders use .devin/ instead of .windsurf/.

What is the difference between Windsurf skills and workflows?

A workflow is a saved list of steps you run with a slash command. A skill is a folder with instructions, templates and scripts that the agent loads on its own when a request matches.
